Job Description:
We are seeking 2 motivated individuals to assist with a project examining nest success of birds in soybean fields in east-central Illinois. We are also interested in how birds are impacting potential soybean pests. Daily duties may include nest searching, vegetation sampling, focal individual observations, maintenance and deployment of field equipment such as cameras and bird exclosures, data entry and other field work as needed. Work schedule consists of ~40 hours per week. Candidates must have flexible schedules and be willing to work weekends. No housing is provided, but field vehicles are available. Positions will begin approximately mid April and conclude end of July to mid August. At least one position must start mid April, but those who cannot start until the end of spring semester may still apply.

Qualifications:
Candidates must be physically fit, able to work independently and as a member of a team, work in hot/humid conditions for extended periods of time that begin early morning, and have a valid driver's license. Applicants with nest searching experience and bird identification skills are especially encouraged to apply.
