Job Description:
IMMEDIATE HIRE! One biological field technician needed to assist MS student beginning May 3 in research examining impacts of the burgeoning wind energy industry on grassland breeding songbirds in eastern Wyoming. Start and end dates flexible, ideally May 3 to early Aug 2012. Duties will include avian line-transect surveys, nest searching and monitoring, nestling measurements, vegetation surveys, and data entry. Applicants must be willing to work very early mornings in the challenging field conditions of the high country plains, including cold, heat, and wind. Salary: $10/hour (~$1712/month) plus housing & field vehicle.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have the ability to identify western birds by sight and sound, meticulous data collection skills, the ability to work independently, and good inter-personal skills. Experience in grassland nest searching and driving manual transmission vehicles is preferred. All applicants must have a valid driver’s license.
