Job Description:
We are looking to hire 2 crew leaders and 5 field assistants for a collaborative University of Alberta & Environment Canada study on the relationship between Ferruginous Hawks and industrial development in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Apply early before the positions are filled! Tasks include nest searching and monitoring, hawk observation, capture and banding, attaching GPS data-loggers and VHF transmitters to hawks, landowner communication, telemetry tracking, identifying habitat characteristics, and more related tasks.

Qualifications:
Pay rate for field supervisors are $2500 - $3000 CDN/month and field assistants $1900 - $2300 CDN/month. Housing and food are included while in the field. Work period typically consists of a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation, this is flexible, but overall work period amounts to 22 days/month. Work term and location has some flexibility, but 1-2 crew leader positions will start March 1st and the remaining positions will start mid-April. Field work is in southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan.
