Job Description:
ICF International’s Environment and Planning division provides a range of consulting services in environmental analysis and compliance (e.g., NEPA), land use planning, transmission planning, public affairs, permitting (e.g., renewable energy) and other emerging market sectors. ICF's Web site is (URL: http://www.icfi.com). ICF is currently seeking Nesting Bird Biologists to join our team on an on-call/contractor basis for a project based in Southern California. Job Description: The Nesting Bird Biologists will support the management of nesting birds for an ongoing alternative energy project in Southern California. About On-Call Employment with ICF International: Given the seasonal or project-specific nature of our environmental work, ICF often hires environmental professionals as “On-Call” employees. On-Call employees are scheduled for work hours as they become available (we usually schedule work hours a few weeks ahead of time), and each on-call employee is free to accept or refuse the hours assigned to them in a given week. On-Call employees may work concurrent projects outside of their ICF assignment (along as their outside work does not create a conflict of interest with the work they do for ICF). Basic Qualifications: **Bachelors degree in Biology or related field (relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis). **MUST HAVE demonstrable field experience with Southern California avian species**Demonstrable experience in avian nest-searching and nest monitoring (permit for nest monitoring of special species is not required)**Must also be able to use GPS, be able to record and maintain accurate and detailed data, and be able to communicate effectively in a fast paced environment**Ability to understand and implement permit conditions while working with construction crews in the field**Pay rate is very competitive and will vary based on the experience of the successful applicants.
