Job Description:
ICF is currently seeking On-Call Riparian Bird Biologists to join our team on an on-call/contractor basis for a project based in Southern California. The Riparian Bird Biologist will assist with monitoring of construction activities adjacent to habitat occupied by special status species for an ongoing alternative energy project. Given the seasonal or project-specific nature of our environmental work, ICF often hires environmental professionals as “On-Call” employees. On-Call employees are scheduled for work hours as they become available (we usually schedule work hours a few weeks ahead of time), and each on-call employee is free to accept or refuse the hours assigned to them in a given week. On-Call employees may work concurrent projects outside of their ICF assignment (along as their outside work does not create a conflict of interest with the work they do for ICF). Qualifications: **Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field (relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis). **MUST HAVE demonstrable field experience with Southern California riparian avian species, specifically experience with Least Bell’s Vireo. **Demonstrable experience in observing, interpreting, and documenting behavior of special status riparian bird species including Least Bell’s Vireo. Experience with observation of nesting behavior preferred. **Must also be able to use GPS, be able to record and maintain accurate and detailed data, and be able to communicate effectively in a fast paced environment **Ability to understand and implement permit conditions while working with construction crews in the field **Pay rate is very competitive and will vary based on the experience of the successful applicants.
