ICF is currently seeking 2 Wildlife Biologists / Project Managers for our office in Gillette, WY.
Job Description:
The Wildlife Biologist/Project Manager will be responsible for client management and resource agency coordination related to the planning and implementation of biological compliance surveys and technical reporting for energy projects (e.g., mining, oil and gas, wind, transmission). The position will include supervision of biological technicians in and out of the field, overnight travel to remote project sites, and personally conducting aerial and ground surveys.
Key Responsibilities:
Energy and natural resource project management; Biological surveys; Writing technical reports; Client correspondence; Supervise biological technicians; 50% travel to survey sites (all within a few hours drive of the Gillette office, though an overnight stay near the survey site may be required). Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Wildlife Biology or related field; 1+ years of experience conducting field surveys for various wildlife (may include surveys done as part of college education); Must be an expert in navigation using maps and GPS; Must have a working knowledge of ArcGIS; Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate four-wheel trucks and All Terrain Vehicles (ATVS).; Must be able to travel and be in the field for extended periods of time.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Master's Degree in Wildlife Biology or related field ; Strong knowledge of short-grass prairie/shrub-steppe flora and fauna; Previous consulting experience or biological resources management; Familiarity with database management, NEPA, and conservation planning; Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Access.
