Description: This special symposium parallel to the main program of the IV North American Ornithological Conference will provide a forum to discuss the significance of Veracruz as a biodiverse area of Mexico facing severe problems of habitat loss and fragmentation and the challenges to study, manage and conserve its biodiversity in a fragmented landscape. Prominent researches from the two major education and research institutions in the State of Veracruz will provide insights to meet the conservation challenge of this privileged region of Mexico.
