Description: A necessary part of every scientists training is learning how to procure research funding. The learning curve for this skill is quite steep, and many young investigators have become daunted by the inability to acquire funding for research projects that will advance their professional development. Compounding this problem is the lack of information about funding opportunities. This workshop seeks to address both of these issues.
The workshop format will involve presentations by a panel of established ornithologists who will discuss the components of a successful grant proposal with an emphasis on funding opportunities for students.
Overview of workshop:
Language: This workshop will be given in English, although hand-outs will include Spanish translations when feasible, as well as information on funding sources in Central and South America.
